Labour should be emboldened by the popularity of policies aimed at breaking down inequality: now’s the time for ambition
I am working on ways designed to give people the skills needed to generate democratic power. My research shows a considerable power imbalance especially associated within the poorer communities which I think may be counteracted with the information, motivation and support needed to become more powerful. Is there anyone in Great Britain that might be interested in this sort of social change idea?
I apologise for taking so long to reply; we have had a busy few months and a family bereavement. I think a lot of people are interested in extending democracy in the ways you suggest, such as The People’s Powerhouse in the North of England: https://peoplespowerhouse.org.uk/ and the citizens assembly movement around the world: https://citizensassembly.co.uk/. See also London Citizens and Citizens UK: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_UK Good luck connecting with organisations who share your perspective and values. Best wishes, Kate
